Thalldyn stood a small distance away, his thick white tail lightly lifting in the breeze atop the knoll he gazed down from. The femma he saw below dazzled him; she was a creature like no other radiating some kind of aura. He experienced a tightening of his chest when the stallion stated his quest the last words drifting to him on a chance wind, he knew what it meant, though how a look had set the emotion in him he did not know. He set his shoulders and trotted down the slight hill, his lean muscles rippling along his stallion body and the dimensions on his honey human torso casting him in perfect godlike stature. His amulet swung slightly back and forth across his chest, glinting in the light. His black hide was jet-black, sleek and velvet to the touch. The hair that crowned his head was just as silky though a dirty blonde, it appeared jelled and spiked giving him an attractive look. He advanced into a canter, his tail whipping out behind him the threads picking up the light and flashing brilliantly. When he came within a certain distance of the two centaurs he locked his back legs and let his front legs continue on as he skidded to a stop leaving impressive furrows in the soft turf. He straightened from the skid and promptly dropped a front knee and bowed to the queen. Though he was unaware she was the queen at the moment. His head came up from his bow and his gaze sought Aluvia’s, his intense eyes hot yet cold at the same time. In the past his gaze had caused filly’s to swoon, but he had never felt anything more than mild affection for the minx’s and had gently declined their offers of a relationship.

Unable to control herself, Alluvia's brows shot up in amazement as her second suitor arrived. His rugged good looks distracted her and for a few minutes, she couldn't speak. She looked down in embarrassment and a couple locks of brown hair tumbled off her shoulders and towards her face. She had never had to deal with future love interests before and she had hoped that she never would have to. Taking a deep breath, she composed her features and tried to remember what her advisers had told her. I must be kind to every suitor....Though I'm not sure if I am ready to take a mate. Alluvia lifted her soft, chocolate eyes to Thalldyn's face as she opened her mouth to greet him,
[glow=blue,2,300]Many greetings to you. I welcome you to this safe haven.[/glow]

Thalldyn let his mouth curve up at the corner, lending his attractive face a mark of charming roguishness.
“Greetings to you gentle and beautiful femme.”
He gently reached for her hand, hesitating so as to give her the chance to pull back should she wish, and turning it so her palm faced up he gently touched his lips to the very edge of her palm where it met her wrist. His grip on that delicate appendage was light and un-restraining, always giving her the choice to pull her hand from his grasp. He let her hand slip from his own work hardened fingers before he sought her gaze once more and spoke.
“Is there ever such a place as a safe heaven, I like the notion and would wish to believe it but it seems beings cursed with human traits are doomed to feud amongst themselves.” He was of course referring to the feud that was erupting between the light and darqs. On his travels he had of course learnt of Alluvia and her role as queen, but he did not suspect the elegant creature before him of being such a person. So it could safely be assumed that he was treating her as he would any equal, with kindness respect and the offer of his friendship. He was not concerned with title or heritage, only the worth of the individual himself or herself.
“Forgive my rudeness, my name is Thalldyn.” And he performed another respectful bow, straightening with a questioning look in his eye, letting the silence enquire after hers.

Although Alluvia had become accustomed to being greeted with a kiss of her hand, she was quite surprised when the centaur turned her palm up instead of keeping it palm down, as was the traditional custom of the land. She quickly hid her surprise with a soft smile as she opened her mouth to reply to his comment about safe havens.
[glow=blue,2,300]Alas, that is true, but this terra is safe for all lights. No dark may enter here...[/glow]
When he finally introduced himself, she nodded gracefully, and answered his questioning look by introducing herself,
[glow=blue,2,300]It is a pleasure to meet you, Thalldyn. My name is Alluvia.[/glow]

His eyebrows shot up in mild surprise as he learnt her name, she did indeed have a regal bearing so he was only slightly surprised. His curved lips wiped the look from his young face and his eyes twinkled.
“That name is as fine-sounding as you are fine-looking, but it holds much information within its worth.” His hooves shifted on the ground absently, his old habit of learning the feel of the ground to better his advantage causing the movement. “Forgive me but I had not realized you were the queen I have heard a great deal about during my travels.”
His hand traveled up and closed around the amulet around his neck, the amulet seemed to melt in his hand coming away from the necklace that kept it in place it then began to shift and grow in his grasp. Eventually it became a gleaming silver sword in his skilled hands, the hilt was primarily white with fine white gold inlay. The blade was sharp and would never dull nor brake; its point always had the unnerving ability to hit its intended mark. A small rounded jewel rested in the pommel, it would glow dully when someone lied within its presence, and this was not always an advantage since it would even glow if the wielder were lying.
Thalldyn set the point of the magnificent weapon in the ground and bending down with his head lowered he bowed to Alluvia like a warrior would to his queen. “Beautiful maiden, I must ask for my heart bids me so. Will you consent to be my mate and queen for all eternity?” His head turned up at the last words and his deep powerful gaze sought Alluvia’s, catching it and holding it as he waited for her answer.

Alluvia's eyes intently observed Thalldyn's enchanted amulet and her lips parted slightly in recongnition. She had heard much about a warrior who wore a magical amulet, but never in her life had she imagined that she would ever meet him. Even before her eyes, the amulet proved its worth by tranforming into the magnificent silver sword. She was indeed flattered and pleased by his proposal, but she knew that now was not the time. Her advisers would have told her to wait until she knew that he was trustworthy, yet she wanted to believe that she could trust him. Lowering her soft, chocolate colored eyes to Thalldyn's, she replied,
[glow=blue,2,300]So the tales about you are true, Thalldyn....I am honored by your proposal and would perhaps accept it, if I was sure that now was the time for me to take a mate and king for my people.[/glow]
Realizing she had said more than she had wanted to, she fell silent. Even so, she had not said all that was in her heart and on her mind at the time. She truly hoped that he wasn't discouraged by her words, for she felt that he could be the one that she could fall in love with and give her whole heart to. What she really meant by her rejection was that it was too soon for her. Will he wait for me? she wondered.

Thalldyn straightened from his bow, he touched a single finger to the necklace that still hung around his neck and a small portion liquefied and came away in his hand. He touched that same hand to Alluvia and the white gold liquid transferred from his hand to the queen. It traveled down her arm to a finger and solidified into a perfect ring with the symbol of infinity inscribed on the surface. It would only come off if she wished it or if Thalldyn died. “Accept this gift as my allegiance until such a time as you are willing to accept a mate. It bonds my life to yours and places my skills in your hands.” As he talked his sword melded back into its previous shape and seemed to drain into his pores, moments later the necklace started to grow a nodule and the amulet reformed on the brilliant chain.
“I had not known my reputation preceded me, remaining unknown is often an advantage in battle since the opposition doesn’t know what to expect.” He flicked his silken banner, the tips of his dirty blonde hair moved slightly in the breeze. He flexed his hand absently were the sword had vanished, causing the muscles along his arm and shoulder to ripple and undulate.
“All I ask is that I be granted the right to live on this land under your rule.” His next words were forced out between clenched teeth, “And any stud you choose to rule beside you, if indeed you choose a stud besides myself.”
His calm composure was born of many years practice, inside his heart kept attempting to leap into his throat and choke his words off. He smiled his charming roguish smile at Alluvia; his eyebrows enhancing the alluring gaze of his intense eyes. He looked at her from under those eyebrows, his eyes full of possibilities.

Alluvia calmly examined the ring on her finger with a growing sense of appreciation for the centaur. He portrayed a quality that she considered to be most important--loyalty. For without loyalty or respect, nobody could ever be trusted to get things done. Looking back up at his charming grin and enchanting eyes, she could not help but blush again.
[glow=blue,2,300]I thank you for this token of your allegiance. If only every light was as loyal as you, then there would be no need to fear the darks. I would be honored if you would become a member of my court, Thalldyn.[/glow]
She smiled her sparklingly innocent smile and brushed a strand of her long, mahogany hair out of her face. Hopefully, she would be able to keep her composure up.
[glow=blue,2,300]As for your reputation, I am sorry to inform you that you are well known to those in politics, but allow me to assure you that none of them know the name of the amulet- bearing warrior. Unfortunately, those who are unique, do not remain unknown for long.[/glow]

Thalldyn could not help but notice the blush that Alluvia kept acquiring, he grinned roguishly delighted with his effect on her. The pink hue suited her maiden like attraction and his hands twitched at the notion of sweeping her into his arms.
“Then a member I am.” He said with a half serious half mock bow. He lifted a hand to his head and ran it absently through his hair; he was still surprised that his hair somehow maintained its silky texture despite the conditions he subjected himself to. Her smile dazzled him and if not for his iron hard will he would have pulled her to him right there. But his was a gentle way so instead he held himself seemingly casually, though his pulse throbbed with every little nuance around him incredibly aware of the land that could become a battle ground just as every other piece of terra.
“I suppose it is time the darqs know what they’re up against, the darqs I’ve encountered have not often lived to bring tales of me back to their clan.” He sneered at the last word, his brow crinkling slightly, though it in no way lessened his attractive expression. He rubbed a shoulder, his arm brushing the amulet which seemed to respond glowing brighter for a split second. “The art of words or politics as you call it, has never been my strong point though it is something I have some talent for.” He shrugged, but he did it in such a way that it showed off the rippling muscles across his lean torso and equine half. One of his tutors had been a great Casanova and had taught him some handy tidbits, though Thalldyn had never used them intentionally in his own adventures.
“If I am unique, you surely are extraordinary.” He was flirting shamelessly and he curved his mouth in a mischievous grin to show he was completely aware of it. He took a step forward and raising a hand he touched the sensitive tip of his finger to her temple and dragged it slowly down her cheek line and jaw line before breaking the contact and looking down into her childlike eyes, his eyes twinkling with amusement and mischief. He took a step back to cool the suddenly, to him, hot space between them. His eyes laughing merrily.
Ooc: lol, I like creating awkward intense moments, I really have to curb the impulse.

((lol, wow...I almost blushed after reading this! you are really good at that, he he))
At his acceptance into her court, Alluvia nodded her head regally in an attempt to hide her joy and happiness. Now that he was a member of her court, she could watch his actions better, and possibly be able to find out if he was truly trustworthy.
[glow=blue,2,300]Good. I'm glad you will be a part of my court. Besides, I am sure that you have more talent in the art of politics than you give yourself credit for.[/glow]
At Thalldyn's shameless flirtations, she could not help but blush again and hope to conceal the fact that she desired him almost as much as he desired her. When he ran his hand through his hair, it was all she could do not to reach out and run her own fingers through his silken locks. Oh, how long it had been since she had felt a centaur's arms around her... Even so, she had to remain strong and not give in to this sudden weakness.
[glow=blue,2,300]You are much too generous in your compliments, Thalldyn. Perhaps it springs from a lack of practice?[/glow]
She could not stop herself from flirting back even though she should have remained professional in her tone. Oh, to hell with it, she thought. Alluvia laughed a sparklingly clear and yet musical laugh. Her eyes glowed with warmth and merriment as she waited for his response.

((oh darn it to hell, this is to good an opportunity to give up. Talk about intense moments, this one will turn you red muhahahaha. :-P))
He shrugged off her remark on politics, his body rippling in the cultivated lithe movement. There was that blush again; his eyes increased their heated intensity as he delighted in her reaction to his well-placed remarks. The maiden looked so young and alone in her leadership, for her he would shoulder some of the burden if only she would let him.
Looking at her from beneath his brow, eyes sparkling as he ran his eyes innocently down her face and neck. Forcing himself to stop there he returned his gaze to her eyes, his generous soft mouth curving at one corner in a predatory way.
“Generous you say? If indeed the case than it is the first I have heard of it, your ears are the first to hear such words of endearment from my lips though I was well tutored.” Though he did not smile his eyes sparkled and his voice held a rueful tone, remembering his trainer.
Her laughter surprised him, and it was all the better for it. His pleasant crescendo of a laugh joined her sweet melodious one, as she looked at him expectantly with those innocent orbs he found himself stepping forward, for once ignoring the little voice in his head and acting on impulse. The fingers of his left hand found their way into her hair, sweeping it up over her right ear and tangling into the soft mass. His right hand came forward and in an ever so light touch his thumb traced her lips, all this time his hold on her was gentle so if at any time she wished to pull away she could. With his hold in her hair he attempted to coax her head to tilt up towards him, he didn’t kiss her. No when he kissed her he wanted her to want it, so instead he smiled ever so slightly into her eyes and in a voice so soft as to rival the susurrations of the evening wind he said, “Ahh Alluvia, demoiselle douce I could be very very happy with you.” Deftly slipping in the French term as the thumb in her hair lightly stroked her temple.

((Holy crap!!!! I am turning very red!! He he!))
Her eyes betrayed her curiosity when she found that he had been tutored in his compliments. But why would he need to be taught such delicacies? she wondered, Was he being taught in the dangerous arts of seduction?
[glow=blue,2,300]And who was your trainer, Sir Thalldyn? Casanova himself?[/glow]
Before she had even finished teasing him, he had stepped forward to run his fingers through her hair. In shock, she drew a sharp breath as she felt the softness of his light caress. Instead of pulling away as she should have done, she found herself leaning forward and lifting her chin so she look straight into his enticing eyes. Her lips parted slightly in anticipation before reality set in. Alluvia swallowed and forced herself to shake her head in denial.
[glow=blue,2,300]I mustn’t, Thalldyn….[/glow]
Though she could hardly explain it to him, she knew that if she gave in to this sudden wave of desire, she would never be able to stop herself. She needed to be responsible, and not make any rash decisions that could jeopardize her people. She lowered her eyes so that he wouldn’t see her disappointment.

He chuckled pleasantly, his chest rumbling with the sound. He breathed in her scent, his body thriving with energy so close to her and yet at the same time completely serene and relaxed.
“My tutor was something of a Casanova yes, though he never taught me his ahh ‘techniques’ and I never endeavoured to learn them when you spend so much time with someone you pick up things. Even against your own volition.”
The way she reacted, becoming so pliant beneath his hands and then though still willing stiffening under his touch only served to cause him to draw her that hairs width closer before abruptly releasing her and stepping back. “Alluvia, you are so strong. Even if you were among the ugliest centauresses I have met I would still feel myself inexorably drawn to you.” His eyes betrayed his mischievousness, “Your beauty is just a bonus.” And though his tone was fun his eyes were sincere.
Though Alluvia lowered her eyes he was still able to see her disappointment, the horse half could be a curse in that the body language could easily display the individuals state of mind. Thalldyn’s didn’t only because of careful training, and his educated eyes could read the body language as easily as the written word. His heart sank a fraction as he realised the anguish he was putting her through, quietly with downcast eyes he said.
“If you wish it, I will go and though I will serve you I will stay out of your way unless you search me down?”

When he stepped away, she felt even more confused from the mixture of emotions that were coursing through her body. She knew that she should be relieved, but somehow, all she felt was loss and a deep longing to be close to him. Yet, his earlier compliment brought a smile to her face, and she accepted it regally. Her attentive eyes noticed his self-control in the way he avoided her gaze and stepped away. Inwardly, she felt heartened by it because she knew that it was even further proof of his loyalty and responsibility. Both were important attributes for any future mate. His last suggestion, though, caused her to hesitate before answering.
[glow=blue,2,300]No, I do not wish for you to leave. You are not in way, and besides, I am glad for the company.[/glow]
She had replied quite lightheartedly, though she meant those words more than even she herself knew. Fiddling with the feathers in her hair, she could not help but think: It gets so lonely here....I could not bear it if he left

Thalldyn smiled sadly then in response. “Then I will stay, though alas you put me in a hard place by requesting so.” His body twitched as he fought the urge to once again step forward and sweep her up in his arms.
“My will is stronger than any natural substance on this earth but even it has its limits, if I remain much longer in your vicinity I cannot be responsible for my actions.”
His gaze lashed her with blatant desire, the pupils dark with hunger. His thoughts turned to very un-gentlemanly thoughts, involving Alluvia and things only her mate would have the privilege of. With an effort he took control of himself and forced his mind back into its disciplined state.
He grinned roguishly at her, attempting to dissolve the tension, “I need a cold shower.”
He shuffled his hooves and rose up into the levade holding it for what seemed an impossibly long time, though it only stretched a few seconds before launching himself into the capriole. He landed after the magnificent leap and kick and spun on a dime back towards Alluvia, having leaped past her in the movement, He often found physical exertion helped to relieve any tension he felt building up in his lithe wiry frame.
