Elvina nodded in acknowledgement of their earlier greetings though keeping a sharp eye on the centaur, letting him know that she didn't trust him. She had relaxed only a little, keeping her form in a defensive position in cause any of the beings present decided to attack. Her deep orbs interestedly took in the situation between the centaur and centauress. She keenly sensed Veripma's loneliness, though she couldn't quite understand why Guardian was looking at her thus.
Recognition crossed her face at the mention of the amulet-bearing centaur, but she kept quiet, hoping to protect the King for as long as possible, though soon, this centaur would find out that the King of Lights bore a magical amulet. It was only a matter of time...Her eyes narrowed suspiciously and as she opened her maw to speak, she warningly flashed her two rows of sharp ivories.
"And just why do you need to find this amulet-bearing centaur?"

Veripma nodded to his words, "Then allow me the joy of accompanying you. Surely, I do not look like much, but I am a powerful fighter, and a lovely companion to any that I might meet." she smiled, "I would love to come with you, whatever your quest may be. I am lonesome for adventure and battle, and the company of one in my own race." Guardian tipped his head to the side, an expression of sympathy upon his face. He understood the need and desire for one of the same species. He had not seen another dragon in many years that would be anywhere near him. No lady dragon would have a thing to do with him, and he was honostly surprised that the one at his side had not left yet.
At the next words of the centaur he narrowed his eyes, recognizing the description of the king immediately, "Yes," he added to the dragoness' words, "Why do you seek this creature. What is your query for?" He watched his friend below him stiffen and knew she had recognized the centaur as well.
"I have not seen him, nor heard from him." she replied.

“”We’re old acquaintances, we go way back.” Drayl replied with a curl of his lips, not altogether cruel but definitely suspicious. “I have some unfinished business with him, and he with I.” he turned to Veripma, “Sorry Roxy, I work alone.” He thought a moment before adding, “But you can come, as long as you stay out of the way and hold your own.” They didn’t need to know the details between him and Thaldyn. But perhaps his agreement to let the centauress accompany him would appease their worries. He wasn’t out to kill Thalldyn after all, just clean up this bit of unpleasantness between them. And to put things bluntly it was fairly obvious they all knew of whom he spoke. He wondered why they were so anxious to intercept any threats to the centaur, it was a question he would need to find the answer too. But for now he let the question simmer in a corner of his mind as he awaited their next reaction.

Veripma smiled brightly, "I can hold my own just fine, and as for staying out of the way, the only thing you'll need to worry about is what I'm making for supper that night." She hoisted her sheath back up to her waist, and gently slid her jeweled sword into it. It was a spectacular weapon, the blade perfectly sharpened, and the handle held many sapphires. One large ruby was inlayed into the base of the handle, and a hand guard curved around to prevent her hand sliding to far up. It's blade was of the finest steel, it's handle of the purest gold.
She swung her arrows onto her back, and picked up her bow. She was ready to travel. Whatever this centaur wanted with Thalldyn, she would be sure that every creature walked away from the events to come. She looked up at Guardian, "Goodbye old friend. May the spirits walk with you."
"And may their hearts make you strong." he replied. His head dipped in respect, he turned away from her and looked to the young dragonness, "Where have you to be sheltered?" he inquired.

Drayl raised an eyebrow, “Making supper?” he snorted as his tail flicked at his flank. “Didn’t mark you as the domestic type.” He commented, not aiming to insult her just stating a fact. His pelt was long dry by now and Drayl nodded his head in acknowledgment of her preparation. “So Roxy. Care to enlighten me as to where I might find Thaldyn? You’re all rather bad at hiding the fact that you know him, or at least know of him.” Drayl remarked with a indifferent shrug. “We can go about it the long way or the short way. But one way or another I will eventually find him, or vice versa.”
Drayl spared a glance for each dragon. He didn’t say goodbyes or anything of the sort, it suggested a certain level of caring and finality. Both of which Drayl didn’t go in for. “Have fun with that one, she looks like a spitfire.” He said instead before wheeling on his quarters and cantering into the forest, expecting nothing of Veripma and not even glancing back to see if she was following. If she wanted to travel with him there was only one pace, his. If she couldn’t keep up, she shouldn’t of stepped up.

Elvina cast a warning glance at Veripma, almost as if to say, "Don't trust him." She, herself, certainly did not, nor would she ever try to. Trust was a virtue not to be taken lightly, especially by one of her bloody background. She was startled from her reflections by a question directed at her, from the dragon called Guardian. Once again, a mask of caution descended across her face as she turned to face him. She did not feel comfortable around others of her own race, a problem caused by her lack of socialization with other draconic species.
"What do you mean?"

Veripma glared at the centaur before spitting back, "Domestic? That is a word beneath even the lowliest of centaurs, though I certainly can understand if you wish to return to such a lifestyle. It may suit you better." Venom strung through her words. It was clear that though she understood he had been stating a fact, she was not going to take it well to be treated as his pet. "If I am to go with you, you will treat me with the respect you would show a good friend, regardless of how well we know eachother. I am not to be toyed with." Her ferocity was held in every word she spoke, the biting anger holding her voice firm and clear.
She nodded to the dragoness, a signal that she understood her warning. "Goodbye Guardian, Lady Dragon." She bowed to each in turn, and took off after her companion, catching up with ease and matching his pace without breaking a sweat. If this was the way they would travel, she would not have any problems with it.
Guardian watched his old friend leave before turning his gaze back to the dragoness at his side, "Where do you stay?" he replied evenly. He gave a small smile, showing that he was in no way a threat to her. She could have trusted him with her life, and he must prove it to her.

Her expression was guarded as she shifted her weight uncomfortably. Strange as it was, she was more at ease with the elves than she was with other dragons. The fact that she was now alone with a much larger dragon did not help either.
"I stay with the elves at Heavenly Glow, though sometimes I abide at the Snow-Topped Peaks...why do you ask?"

Guardian snapped to attention, "And why would you stay with the elves?" he questioned, ignoring her inquiry, "Do you have no true allegiance to those of your species?" He meant no insult, but any decent dragon would place their faith in continuing the dying draconiac race. Surely her kind were more important than the warmth of an elven hearth?
He lowered his head to eye level with her and gazed ahead warmly into her orbs, "There is a place for you with me if you should choose to show a true pride in who you are."

A shadow passed over her scaled dial, making it especially difficult to read her expression. Even so, anyone could notice the sudden hardness around her orbs and maw. With a most vehement growl, she snapped her jaws with scissorlike precision. Hate and anger dripped with every word she spat out,
"How dare you insult my protectors! I have no allegiance to those who sought to kill me after already slaughtering my parents!"

Guardian took the violent strike without a flinch or a shudder. His eyes locking onto her own angry glare. "I seek not to insult you M'lady." he replied cooly, the ice of his sparking fire in his voice cutting through her fierceness and aiming for her heart, "I merely find it strange that one such as yourself, who so obviously craves freedom would seek a warm hearth in their lands. Do not find my words fault, I implore you, but I could show you things in your nature that your parents could never have dreamed of knowing, much less your precious elven allies."

She was damaged, she knew that, but why would this dragon care? No others of her own race had bothered to socialize with her nor had she bothered to socialize with other dragons. There was no need, really. She rather enjoyed staying with her best friend and occasionally going out on little adventures with her elven companion.
The dragon before her, confused her. What was he really up to? Her orbs were steeped in suspicion and perhaps a trace of fear. He was, after all, quite a bit larger. Even so, she felt that she could hold her own, should he decide to attack or try to force-mate with her. Her voice was laced with sarcasm as she dared to bluntly ask,
"And just what things could you show me? Don't think that I don't know what you've been hinting at. I'm sorry to dissappoint you, but unfortunately, I do not desire to have a mate."

Guardian listened to her and a smile inched across his long maw. When she had finished, a booming laugh echoed from his throat and his eyes twinkled. He felt blue sparks drop to the earth as his fire pipe ignited from the force of his glee. He quickly stamped it out and turned back to her, his smile still creeping across his face.
"I seek not a mate, though if you so choose I would be glad to take you as my own. No, I see you suffering for lack of draconiac companionship, and I wish to assist as I can. I can show you how to harness the magic within your fire and create a weapon beyond your talons and fangs. I can teach you to be a fierce arial fighter and to target your opponent with your fire in with pin point precision to attack a weak spot in his defenses. Please, allow me to prove myself to you."

Intrigued, yet still doubtful of his motives. Elvina let some tension leave her form until she was settled into a more sedate state. Even his laugh and smile could not help but lift the corners of her maw until she was mirroring him with a timid grin of her own. Smoke breezed out of her nostrils as she exhaled deeply.
"Please do, though should you fail, I will have no choice but to kill you. Allow me to offer you my name....Elvina, meaning 'friend of the elves'."

"A lovely name, fitting of such a lovely creature. But do tell, how may I prove my intentions to you? What will make my words true to you?" His tail flicked a bit, and his eyes brightened at her allowance. Her smile warmed his heart and he was glad that she was letting him in a bit. He hoped he would not fail to prove himself to her, and that she would give him a chance. He was aware of her muscle, but with his skill he knew she could not kill him if he failed.
