Lamina lay quietly in the meadow, watching the other centaurs go past silently, a relaxed smile upon her face, as she savored the warm sun on her back. Dark brown eyes flickered away, up to the sky, as she watched the clouds, making out shapes, and considering their possible meaning, trying to discern the message being spread. Hazel hair fell around her face in waves, matching the plume cascading in a fan over the grass, dark brown torso matching her warm brown eyes. Over her upper torso, she wore a plain wrap.
A few metres away, Taryth watched the herds silently, stocky, dappled grey, shire body boosting him a couple of inches above the others, muscled torso glinting gold in the rich light. His eyes followed the movements sadly, before he sat down, sighing softly.
"Problem", Lamina asked, turning to Taryth, watching him closely. "Hm? Oh no, no problem at all. I was just thinking, about..", he trailed off, looking to the ground. "I can't believe you are still getting worked up over the fact that you're not a sexist chauvinist idiot, who thinks he can claim every female he sees. It's a good thing, Taryth. Lighten up", she responded, grinning wryly, "At least you're not me. Any male comes along and I have to go with them no matter what. I hate this heirachy."

Epona passed by and stopped to walk over to Lamina. The tiger-striped centauress had envy in her eyes as she smiled and said, "I wish I could be that relaxed and peaceful..."

Lamina looked up, breaking away from her conversation. "Really? Truthfully, I am so bored, looking at the clouds is becoming fun", she responded, grinning briefly, "Being relaxed and peaceful is easy enough, but it's also boring. I almost prefer the days when we had trouble with humans."

Epona shook her head, "I'm not sure I'd want the humans back. Being relaxed doesn't come to me easily anyways,...I always have to be moving."

"How come?" Lamina asked, curiously, "This place is really quiet, in my opinion. I'd much prefer to be chased around by the humans, at least it kept me busy. I like being busy."
Taryth rolled his eyes at her comment, gaze back on the other centaurs, as he lowered himself to the ground, sitting silently.

"I don't know," she shrugged, "I guess moving is in my blood."

Lamina smiled briefly, "I'm Lamina, by the way. And you are?" Waiting for a reply, she watched the other centauress with slight curiosity, "So, how come you have stripes?"

"Epona," she replied, "I'm from Costa Rica...the centaurs there look a bit different than here."

"Cool. I wish I had an unusual coat, or look. I'm just boring brown. Wood brown. Mud brown. Boring, boring brown. Which is probably why my personality is so much better!!" Lamina grinned once more, before pulling herself to her feet, looking around. "God, I could do with some action", she added, forlornly, gazing around, "Nothing happens."

"Me too," she replied and began to prance in place.

Lamina stretched, looking up to the skies, "One thing that can be said for humans; They made plenty of stuff to entertain themselves. My most entertaining part of the day is hunting. And even that barely lasts a few minutes. Just have to face it, I suppose. Centaurs are boring. And I am starving. I've gotta have some grass". She sat back down, pulling tufts of the stuff up and slowly chewing on it, a look of disgust on her face. "Nature did us no advantages, designing us to be half human, half horse. I have two stomachs to feed. The human part of me has to have meat, and the horse has to have grass. I'm lucky I'm not half cow, because then my breakfast would take up the whole day."

Epona burst into a fit of laughter over her last comment, "That's right! Don't cows have 4 stomachs?"
((ha ha, lol))

"Yeah, pretty much. God, I'd have to spend an entire day eating grass", she made a face, chuckling softly, before swallowing another mouthful of the dreaded green stuff. "I hate having to eat my greens", she joked, swallowing another mouthful.

"Me too, yet somehow my body craves it..." she rolled her eyes. Epona knelt down in the grass and began plucking at it with her hands.

"That's what you get for being half horse. That coupled with trying to go to sleep, and we're pretty unlucky", she responded, reluctantly eating, as she looked over to Taryth, "Hey, have you eaten yet?" Taryth turned, glancing at Epona briefly, before quietly stating, "No. I'm putting it off for a little." The larger centaur sat quietly, watching the centaurs for a few moments, before his gaze went to the sky. It was an automatic habit, for one who was a born stargazer. Lamina rolled her eyes, turning back to Epona, with a shrug.
(How do centaurs sleep...?)
