A slight crackle filled the air, plus the burn smell of branches overhead, as Shiku pushed her way through. Body ablaze with electricity, she winced, as she snagged a scale on a branch. "Blast", she snapped, turning to it, "Scales can protect against swords, spears, arrows, fire, and practically any fall, but one branch and they fall to pieces. Some evolutionary feature."
She tugged away, as half the scale ripped off, a yelp fleeing her maw. "Hang scale", she howled, turning to look at it, forlornly. A few drops of silver blood, a feature of elementals, tumbled to the ground with a crack, destroying the surrounding grass. "Dragon blood. Even it had to be dangerous", she stated, scuffing it out. That patch of soil would be infertile for ten years or so. Oops.
She moved on, having inspected the scale enough to note it would easily heal, pushing on through the branches. "This is a lovely meadow", she exclaimed, gazing around the forest, "Makes me feel so comfortable". Finally, shoving her way through a small gap, she was stuck. She tugged, pulling against the branches, before she fell face first into the dirt. "Ouch", she stated, nursing her hurt nose, wings bent back, tail squashed underneath. Carefully, she struggled to her feet, regaining her balance long enough to look around, gasp, and consequently fall back down again. Who'd have known that a haven lurked nearby the nightmare of a forest?, she thought, before announcing, "I certainly didn't"
