What Taryth was doing in the grasslands, he had no idea. One moment, he was walking in the meadows, the next he had strayed in to the dangerous territory of the grasslands. Where females lay in wait, and males prepared to pounce. Not his scene. He shook his head, grey eyes calm, as he continued to walk. He didn't have to get a mate, if he came here. He was allowed to just walk, after all. Hooves sinking large prints into the grass, he continued to wandered, pausing every now and then, to scoop up a handful of grass and munch on them thoughtfully, tail swatting away the horseflies that hovered around him, just itching for a bite. Turning, he aimed a hand at one, and winced as the fly then made contact with his hand. "I'm a centaur, not a horse. Find some other meal", he told the flies, moodily trampling onwards. A little hurt, by some comment that had been made against him.

Aztecca had been eating berries when she noticed the male. She smiled. She dropped the handful of berries and made her way towards him. "Hello." She said quietly, brushing her long blonde hair out of her silver eyes. "Are you here for the same reason as everyone else?" She smiled again, and fiddled with a flower that was intwined in her hair. Her palomino body glowing in the sun.

"No", he responded bluntly, still angrily gazing at the flies. Normally, he'd be nicer, but being bitten to death was a real mood dampener. He glanced up to her, "Are you?" Made sense. Anybody who came here was after a mate. Which made it real annoying when you actually wanted to go for a walk without being badgered. Even the flies badgered you.

"I guess so." She said lightly. "I'm not really sure why I'm here." She reached up to swat a fly from her face, and said. "I'll leave you alone if you want..." She sighed, but cheered up when she realised what he'd said. "You sure picked a strange place to take a walk." She smiled. "You know there are no flies where I was just standing, we could talk over there if you want." She knew it was a strange thing to say but she really wanted some company. "But that's only if you want." She smiled her beautiful smile again.

"Flies follow me. There's no escape from them", he responded, gloomily swatting a couple away, before registering her words, "How did you know I was annoyed about the flies?" He turned, looking down at her curiously. As a shire, he tended to tower over most centaurs.

"I don't know... I can read people. Its a quality, but also a curse." She said lightly. "You dont seem to happy. Maybe I should just leave you alone, do you want me to leave?" She asked. She twisted a strand of golden hair around a finger. 'He's quite handsom' she thought looking him up and down. She suddenly realised that she was being quite obvious in her actions and she looked away blushing, hopeing he hadn't noticed she'd been looking him over.

"If you want", he responded, shrugging, slightly embarrassed, "I'm just annoyed about the flies." He looked around the area silently, before glancing back to her.

"You shouldn't be", he responded, shrugging, "We're not exactly that different from you. Same species, anyway."

She laughed, letting her smile show. "Im sorry, I'll go. You obviously want to be alone." She turned to leave, a little hurt.

"Ok, I guess", he stated, carefully, unsure if he was supposed to say something now. She didn't seem upset, though her words sounded a little annoyed. But then, he could never tell when someone was annoyed, or angry, or hurt.

She lifted her hand in a sad goodbye and turned to leave.

Somthing stopped her and she turned back to him. "Do you like being alone?" She asked. She didnt move any closer but instead stayed where she had stopped and gazed at him. "Not to be rude, but you do not seem very happy... or nice." She added regretting her words as soon as she had said them.
