Trephas entered the forest as silent as a mouse. Slinging his bow and quiver of arrows over his shoulder, he followed the trail of a young deer. The winding hoof prints took him deeper and deeper into the forest. A smile appeared on his face as he noticed the tracks becoming fresher...He was getting closer to his prey.

A centauress has also seen the deer, her supple body with bay hide was barely distinguisable, and movements hard to detect. She slunk fast and silent, dark brown hair occasionally catching the light as does the wing of a bird.

He hid behind a tree and peered around the trunk. There, standing absolutely still, he saw the deer. Slipping the bow off of his shoulder and grabbing an arrow, he aimed his bow and arrow at the deer's heart.

There was a quiet thunk which turned out to be an arrow piercing straight through the deers' heart. It fell onto the forest floor, not having felt a thing. The centauress remained motionless having seen the centaur, her quiver slipped back on her shoulder along with a sword in a silver engraved scabbard.

Trephas paused, stunned. Then he began to realize that some other centaur had killed his prey. He became angry and wanted to yell, but he maintained his composure and waited for the other centaur to collect his kill...

Her eyes narrowed as she saw his anger. She placed a hand on the hilt of her sword. She would let him have the deer, it was the chase she enjoyed.

Grumbling angrily, he stepped out from behind his tree to look for the other hunter. Then he stopped as he spotted the centauress. It had been a huntress, not a hunter!

She observed him without saying anything, dark brown eyes flicking to his quiver. Her tanned fingers stayed lightly on her sword, she was a trained warrioress so wasn't too concerned.

Regaining his speech, he made a short bow in her direction, "You forgot to collect your deer, miss."

She smiled, registering his manners, although her hand remained where it was. She took a step forward, chocolate coloured hair shining. "Actually i didn't. Considering i robbed you of the kill you may take it."

He shook his head, "No, I only take that which I have killed myself."

She nodded, "I just like the chase. Gets the blood pumping, no more battles to fight currently and it's in my blood."

"So are you if you will not take it." she replied, eyes sparkling. She drew her sword for the familiarity of the feel. The silver metal gleamed in the light highlighting the symbols on the blade, carved by a skilled hand. She handled it with ease and deathly precision.

"Yes, but I wasn't the one who killed it..." he reminded her.
